Fr. Al Sinasac, CSB announced as Honoree at Texas Harvest Soiree ’21

2021 Gala Honoree

It is our pleasure and privilege to announce this year’s gala honoree for the St. Anne School Foundation Texas Harvest Soiree ’21 is Father Al Sinasac, CSB.  We take this opportunity to honor Fr. Al and to recognize his service and commitment to the children and families of St. Anne Catholic School and Catholic education.

Fr. Al Sinasac, a Life Devoted to Service

A native of Amerherstburg, Ontario, Canada, Fr. Al completed his theology degree at the University of St. Michael’s in Toronto, Ontario.  It was his first time living in a big city and the towering skyscrapers were a far cry from his rural roots. He was ordained on June 2, 1979, and then traveled to Saskatoon with Father Bob Chislom, CSB whom he knew from his childhood parish.

After one year, the General Council showed faith in the young priest by appointing him House Superior. At his first General Council Assembly, he was invited to go to Mexico for five days. He loved it and ended up staying for eight years. “It expanded my whole vision of the Church, which was formed by my Anglo community. I saw how another culture expressed and lived their faith.  It opened my eyes, he said.”

Fr. Al moved to Houston in 1990 and worked with Hispanic men at Casa San Bisilio discerning the priesthood. He then served on the General Council for nine years. In 2008, Fr. Al came to the St. Anne Catholic Community, serving as parochial vicar and was appointed pastor in 2010, establishing himself as a beloved member of our community.

He recently announced his retirement and has moved into Dillon House, where he will remain close to St. Anne.
